Empire Zoysia Grass is very drought tolerant, in fact it may recover from 60 day droughts! Empire Zoysia is also very resistant to insects, tolerates heat, wear, is naturally
weed resistant and has
excellent disease resistance. This makes for a "green" grass that requires fewer chemical inputs and less frequent mowing due to the horizontal growth pattern.

planted in areas where colder winter temperatures occur
(10 degrees or less). States located north of
Oklahoma, Missouri, Kentucky, West Virginia, Virginia,
Maryland and New Jersey may experience damage - We do
NOT recommend this variety (Empire) for these northern
state areas as damage can include death of the plugs due
to colder temperatures.

Important - Shipping Restrictions:
Due to state agricultural regulations on soils We can not
ship our Grass Plugs to the following states:
Arizona, California, Oregon, Nevada & Washington.
Due to shipping time constraints we do not ship any plugs outside USA mainland States.
(IE: Puerto Rico, Hawaii, Alaska, US Islands) There are no
restrictions on seeds shipped to these states.

Shipment Dates: Our grass plugs ship
year-round every Monday for all orders placed the previous week.
Orders must be placed by 10 am EST on Friday in order to ship the
following week. Since we ship orders once they are placed, please
order only if you are ready to plant.

Companion grass seeds can be planted together in
newly established (bare soil) lawns to increase
the establishment time for a new lawn. No
seeds exist for the variety Empire or Meyer... It a
vegetative variety and must be sodded, sprigged or plugged.
Slight differences in color and leaf texture exist
between all varieties.
